John Boyega is quickly turning into one of the biggest stars in all of the entertainment industry. As one of the lead characters in the new ‘Star Wars’ trilogy John Boyega has started to get global appeal and branding. From ‘Star Wars’ the young entertainer leaped straight into the arms of another hit science fiction franchise, albeit much newer, ‘Pacific Rim’. John Boyega has been hard at work as the lead character in ‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ and we’re finally starting to see actual details regarding his work on the film leaked to the public. Let’s jump in and look at the latest leaked ‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ movie details.
First of all readers who have not finished watching the original ‘Pacific Rim’ should probably start reading here. Now that this is out of the way. ‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ stars as John Boyega playing the child of Stacker Pentecost, the character played by Idris Elba in the first ‘Pacific Rim’ film. For months that was pretty much all the general public knew in regards to details. But then details started to leak that weren’t so positive. Guillermo Del Toro wasn’t going to be directing. Charlie Hunnam would not be returning to continue starring in the franchise. Eventually the show landed in the hands of Steven S. DeKnight (‘Daredevil’ on Netflix) and Boyega was brought on to star.
New trailers are set to be released at ‘Comic Con’ coming up in the next week. The New York Comic Con will offer attendees the first look at the trailer while fans at home have to be content with just reading the most recent leaked synopsis. What we know about the film from the leaked synopsis is listed here. John Boyega will be playing Jake Pentecost, a former Jaeger pilot who gave up on training in order to become a criminal. Eventually a great new evil is unleashed upon the world and Jake Pentecost is called in to join a new squad of elite Jaeger pilots.
The synopsis is pretty boilerplate but it also reveleas that Charlie Day and Burn Gorman will be reprising their old roles while Scott Eastwood will become the lead antagonist to John Boyega’s Jake. The film is being pushed hard by producers despite all of the tumult in actor and director drama. If ‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ succeeds then John Boyega may have a whole new scifi franchise to focus on.
