Justin Copeland, the director of the DC Animation film Batman: Hush, revealed that he has bigger plans for the Dark Knight in a new interview. Speaking with DC Movie News on Popcorn Talk Network, Copeland revealed that he would like to do a live action adaption of the 1999 graphic novel Batman: No Man’s Land. No Man’s Land follows Batman and his allies in the wake of an earthquake in Gotham City. As the heroes try to restore order in the crime-ridden Gotham, the federal government seals off the city from the rest of the country. The television series Gotham recently adapted the storyline for its fifth and final season.

Copeland says that his version of No Man’s Land would follow a different course than Gotham’s final season. While Gotham mostly focused the story on Commissioner Gordon and a young Bruce Wayne as he takes his final steps to becoming Batman, Copeland’s version would be told from the perspective of Cassandra Cain, the second Batgirl. Copeland also said that he would want Robert Pattinson to play his version of Batman in the film. Pattinson was recently cast in the role of the Dark Knight in Matt Reeves’s upcoming film The Batman. Copeland praised Pattinson’s past performances, saying that with a megastar like Pattinson, audiences are guaranteed a quality picture. Industry insiders say that Pattinson has currently signed-on to portray Batman/Bruce Wayne in a total of three film for DC Entertainment. The films are reportedly intended to be a new trilogy with Reeves at the helm of each film.

Batman: Hush premiered at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Adapting the 2002 graphic novel of the same name, Hush follows the Dark Knight as he contends with a villain known as Hush, a man who seemingly knows all of the Caped Crusader’s secrets. The film has thus far garnered rave reviews, with most praising the voicework of actor Jason O’Mara as Batman.

Batman: Hush is currently available on Blu-ray and digital streaming. The Batman will be released on June 25, 2021.
