New Family Photos Emerge from Rambo V: Last Blood

Rambo V, the film that almost never happened, recently completed its production. Filming began on Rambo V: Last Blood and details trickled out regarding the plot of John Rambo’s swan song. The narrative in a report by Screen Rant deals with Rambo trying to save kidnapping victims and battling a violent cartel near the Arizona border. Astute fans will recall Arizona was long established as Rambo’s hometown. He returned home, seemingly for retirement, in the previous Rambo entry. Retirement did last a few years, but Rambo finds himself unable to escape his violent life.

Sylvestor Stallone continues to build anticipation for Rambo V’s release by posting photos on his social media pages. Images of Rambo’s adopted family hit the internet. Family members are the ones who find themselves in danger in this new entry.

Unfortunately, Rambo’s new family can’t completely rely on him for protection. The film acknowledges Rambo’s age slowed him down quite a bit. The legendary mercenary — reportedly — suffers a severe beating at the hands of the cartel. His rescue plans don’t go as anticipated. Thankfully, Rambo finds someone capable of helping him finish his final mission.

And this is definitely the final mission for John Rambo. Stallone ended the on-screen dramas of Rocky Balboa in Creed 2. John Rambo’s next cinematic appearance will likely be his last as rumors indicate the veteran dies at the conclusion.

Stallone clearly wants closure for all his characters. The actor returns to the Expendables franchise for a fourth film and intends on ending the adventures of Barney Ross as well.

Stallone does return his Ray Breslin role for Escape Plan 3. Will there be a fourth Ray Breslin outing in the future? The answer depends on how well Escape Plan 3 does at the Chinese box office. The first two films were flops in the USA, but did well overseas.

The box office for Rambo V: Last Blood could turn out surprisingly strong. Fans may wish to see the iconic character come to the conclusion of his cinematic struggles.

Is this truly the end of John Rambo though? Rumors of a Rambo TV series reboot with a new actor persist. Stallone may finish up the Rambo role, but the character could live on.
