Behind the scenes video from the set of The CW series Gotham Knights  indicates that Bruce Wayne\Batman will appear in the upcoming show. This comes as a surprise for those following the project, as official descriptions of it say that it takes place after the hero’s murder. The video, which was uploaded by a TikTok user near the show’s University of Toronto filming location, shows a trailer for an actor playing the character. The CW has yet to comment on the casting and has not even confirmed that Batman will appear in the series, but fans are already speculating on the reveal. Many theorize that the character will appear in the series through flashbacks.

No matter what capacity Batman will appear in the series, he is sure to have a big impact on the show. An official synopsis of Gotham Knights tells that the show will follow his rebellious adopted son, an original character named Turner Hayes, who is played by Oscar Morgan. Following Wayne’s murder, Hayes joins with several other aspiring heroes to keep Gotham safe in the wake of rising crime. Hayes also allies himself with the children of several of Gotham’s biggest criminals after they are falsely accused of killing the Dark Knight. Among the scions of great villains set to appear in the series is Duela Dent, the daughter of the Joker who was abandoned in the halls of Arkham Asylum.

The series will also include several of Batman’s lesser known sidekicks. Carrie Kelly, the first female Robin, Harper Row/Blue Bird, and Stephanie Brown, a former Robin who now calls herself Spoiler, have all been cast in the series as regular characters. Rounding out the ensemble is Supernatural veteran Misha Collins, who will play Gotham City District Attorney Harvey Dent. While fans might know Dent as the villain Two Face, Collins says that for the moment, his character is a dedicated public servant trying to help the people of Gotham.

Produced by the same team behind Batwoman, Gotham Knights does not currently have a premiere date.
