Self-Driving Car Fatality
There has been a lot of discussions lately over the Tesla Model S “self-driving car”. Most of the recent news have been due to the fatal car accident involving a self-driving Tesla car in Florida. This marks the first fatality involving a self-driving car. The driver was watching Harry Potter as the car drove itself on the expressway. A semitrailer truck made a left turn in front of the Tesla and the car failed the apply the breaks. The car went through the trailer tearing the top of the car right off and ultimately hitting a telephone pole. The main question remains, is the Tesla Model S a self-driving car or meant to be used as autopilot?
Tesla Model S Features
According to Tesla the car is meant to be driven while resting your hands on the steering wheel and paying attention. They also emphasized that the technology is getting better all the time but it’s not perfect. To Tesla’s defense, this is the first self-driving death in 130 million miles driven by its customers. The Tesla model S uses an image recognition camera, front radar, a 360-degree ultrasonic sonar and sensors in order to maintain speed and road lanes. Using this real-time information the car is able to control the speed and steer away from trouble. Seems like the car is more of an autopilot than a completely self-driving car. Having said that take a look at the innovative Tesla Model S.
Technology Now And Future Plans
To me just the fact that the car can be driven in autopilot mode it’s a major win for Tesla. There are always going to be customers who try to push the limit of the technology. The technology is there but just needs to be perfected. Tesla has already said that they plan to fully automate the self-driving by 2018 while increasing the safety. Furthermore, the company has other innovative ideas coming down the pipe such as self-charging cars and increasing battery life per charge. Tesla is definitely ahead of the game when it comes to technology in the car industry and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Not a huge fan of auto pilot. Not going to work out very well.
I believe Tesla is coming out with a 35k model by Sumber 2017.
They’re gonna have to step up their game quick. Both Porsche and Audi are going to try to outdo Tesla. Audi plans 3 models to be out by 2018 I believe.
I’m a huge fan of auto pilot driving, I don’t care what the critics say. I can’t wait to drive automatically while I play on my phone.
Love it , it’s in its infancy but come 20 years from now we will look back and wonder how we ever lived with out it
