Seahawks Hand 49ers First Loss of Season

One of the best stories of the 2019 NFL season has been the resurgence of the San Francisco 49ers. The team had been bad for a very long time. However, they won the first eight games of the season behind QB Jimmy Garappolo. They were the final undefeated team in the NFL going into their Monday night clash with the Seattle Seahawks. It was a thrilling contest that saw the 49ers score a pair of touchdowns in the final quarter. This sent the game into overtime with the score tied at 24. Both teams had a chance to win the game in overtime. Both came up short.

The game was eventually won by the Seahawks on a field goal for a final score of 27-24. The field goal was set up by a brilliant scramble of 19 yards by Seattle QB Russell Wilson. He has a history of bringing his team back to win games in the fourth quarter. He did it once again on Monday night. He has become one of the most clutch QBs of his generation. The 49ers now have a record of 8-1. The Seahawks are currently sitting at 8-2. It will be very interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out for both of these talented teams. They will play each other again in December.

The NFC West division is going to be won by either the 49ers or the Seahawks. The Los Angeles Rams are only 5-4 this year. They have a lot of problems and played a dismal game against the Steelers last Sunday where they turned the ball over multiple times. The Arizona Cardinals are only 3-6. They have a rookie playing the QB position. Therefore, they were not expected to do anything this year.

This is the first time that Jimmy Garappolo has been able to be the QB of a team for an entire season. He suffered a very serious injury last year that robbed him of most of the season. He has made up for lost time by playing great this season. There are many people who feel that the 49ers could be headed for the Super Bowl. It remains to be seen if that will be the case. They will need to avoid any key injuries. The Seahawks are also loaded with talent. They have won a few games this year that they should have lost.
