Recently retired undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has been compared numerous times to rising UFC star Conor McGregor. This is the fuel that has ignited a back and forth of trash talk between the two. But the trash talk has started to sound a bit more serious. Floyd is getting sick and tired of all the comparisons calling it “total disrespect.” He told TMZ “I didn’t know Conor McGregor was undefeated. I didn’t know he had a reign in MMA for 20 years and undefeated and was world champion in five different weight classes. That’s something I didn’t know. So I guess you guys are telling me something new if you say he’s the Floyd Mayweather of the MMA”. After Floyd called McGregor an “ant”, McGregor has responded with “say it to my face”. Conor McGregor has also gone on calling him out at a New York nightclub even stating the fighting terms.
Conor wants $100 million to fight Floyd in a boxing ring. This is something Showtime would be able to accommodate for him. The total purse for Mayweather vs Pacquiao was $300 million. As of now both fighters have agreed that the possible fighting event would not be an MMA fight but a boxing fight. Will undefeated Floyd Mayweather come out of retirement to face Conor McGregor and possibly risk his flawless record? If we know something about Floyd is that he likes to make money. This fight can potentially break all previous Pay Per View records Floyd set himself.
