Stories about President Trump’s State of the Union address are hitting the Internet at warp speed. In true Trump fashion, the facts the president shared with the world didn’t jive with the truth, according to CBS News. Mr. Trump said the U.S. economy is the fastest growing economy in the world. And he said he stopped a nuclear war with North Korea.

That fact is one of Trump’s stable of imagined truths that come out when the president stands in front of cameras. India, China, and Poland have better GDP numbers. And Kim Jon Un just wanted Trump attention.

Fact after fact in his SOTU union address came from that Trump stable of imagined truths. But he did manage to get close to the real truth when he said the U.S. took back a lot of land from the Taliban over the last two years.

A Washington Post article pointed out the similarities between Trump 2017 SOTU address and this one. Both SOTU addresses were testaments that describe the president’s accomplishments. It gives Mr. Trump a chance to sell himself to his voter base. A voter base that gets smaller by the week. Another government shutdown could be Trump’s swan song to his base, according to the Democrats. Another shutdown would mean no wall. If he doesn’t fulfill his promise to erect a steel wall along the Southern border, the odds of a Trump challenger coming out from the bowels of the Republican swamp will go up substantially.

But Mike Pence, Trump’s beady-eyed, gay-hating, Vice President says he’ll stick with Trump to the end. When Mike Pence was governor of Indiana, he created a nightmare for the LGBT community. Pence and his wife claim they are God-fearing Christians that follow Jesus teachings to the letter. But when CBS News asked Pence if he thought the president did the right thing by shutting down the government he Pence-fully said heck yeah. His kind of Christianity says it’s okay to treat people like pawns. Government workers paid the price for Trump’s wall tantrum. Mr. Pence went on the news shows praising Trump’s evangelical excellence.

Most Washington insiders think Mike Pence wants to be president. He wants to be another Trump who can write frivolous executive orders that discriminate, abuse, and violate human rights. Pence is a Trump fanboy for now. But Pence thinks he can produce the same kind of leadership as Trump if the swamp finally swallows the Trumpster. Pence gets one of those Trump-type boners when he thinks about being president.
