One of the most legendary horror films of all-time is “The Thing” starring Kurt Russell and directed by John Carpenter. It was not a box office hit when it was first released in 1982. However, it has risen to cult status in the years since because of showings on cable TV and various releases on home video. Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures will be teaming up to make the film. It will also be including some extra content from the original book that was not included in the 1982 film. There was no release date given for the film.

“The Thing” is about an alien that comes down to Earth and has the ability to copy the form of any living person or animal that it comes into contact with. It begins to kill off the scientists who are working at a remote station in the arctic. The isolation of the location only added to the horror of the film. It is not clear if all of the story from the first movie will be the same in the reboot. There have been no casting decisions made as of yet. The original film was made long before computer animation was used on a regular basis. Therefore, all of the shots of the alien in its various forms were done by using practical effects.

The budget for a film like this will be key. Creating an alien that is convincing to audiences will require some money. You can not make a movie like this on the cheap. This is why it is so important that Blumhouse and Universal provide some adequate financing to the project. It remains to be seen if that will be the case. Having an actor with the charm and charisma of Kurt Russell in the lead role is also something that the film will need in order to succeed.

Hollywood has been remaking old horror films on a regular basis over the past few years. There have been many people who have complained about the lack of creativity that currently exists in the show business industry as a whole. Even shows like “MacGyver” and “Magnum, P.I.” have been resurrected. This new version of “The Thing” will need to offer something new to audiences in order for it to be a hit. Simply rehashing the same old story will not get the job done. There has to be a new twist.
