These Violent Delights Have Violent Ends (Spoilers)
All too soon Season 1 of WestWorld has ended with an unexpected twist not many saw coming. Dr. Robert Ford had been pro-host the whole time and just needed to create more suffering for the hosts. Why more suffering? Because that’s the only way they’ll have a real chance against humans in the real world. His master plan began soon after his partner Arnold committed suicide. He was soon able to understand and find out how to create consciousness on the hosts. This is something Arnold failed to understand, ultimately driving him insane. Just as Arnold, Dr. Ford decides to take his life after playing God for 35 years. But before doing so he liberated the hosts having reached self-awareness and massacred the Delos board members attending the new narrative inauguration.
Season 2 “Bigger Picture” Theory
Season 1 ends with the new narrative inauguration celebration called “Journey Into Night.” Dr. Ford explains to the Delos board that the new narrative “begins with the birth of a new people and the choices they will have to make and the people they will decide to become.” He is obviously talking about the hosts. But let’s take a step way back. It is no secret the TV series WestWorld is based out of a 1973 science fiction movie sharing the same name. The sequel to WestWorld the movie was “FutureWorld” released in 1976. I believe this is where the show will be heading with a “bigger picture.”
What if WestWorld was a trap to all the guests? instead of an amazing getaway. Delos controls the rights to the guests’ DNA which is part of the contract. We already know that Bernard is an exact copy of Arnold. It is possible to clone a guest. In the episode “Blood Sacrifice” executive director Charlotte Hale talks about a research project that’s very important to Delos. In FutureWorld the movie, Delos was killing guests and making clones to replace them in the real world. The guests replaced were then called “originals”. “The originals” was the name of the first episode of WestWorld. Taking into consideration that only the extremely wealthy can afford to go to WestWorld this can be huge for Delos. They can create clones of the most powerful people in the world. I am talking about world domination. What do you think? Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing Season 2 of WestWorld until possibly 2018.
