Strange Tweet Fuels Gronkowski Retirement Rumors

Is Rob Gronkowski planning to leave the NFL? A cryptic tweet on Saturday has many people speculating that he is. He has not declared any definite future plans as of yet.

In the tweet Gronkowski writes, “Forsee your own future, control your own temptations, and your destiny will be not just reached, it will just be starting.”

Rob Gronkowski is perhaps one of the most-recognizable players in the NFL. He has played eight seasons with the New England Patriots. He is a two-time Super Bowl champion.

In addition to a laundry list of statistical records, the tight end is also well-known for his personality. He is loved by Patriots’ fans across the country for his humor and antics. He is also easily spotted because of his enormous build and frame.

Some are speculating that Gronkowski may head to the WWE. With his personality and size, he would be an excellent fit for professional wrestling. There is a long list of former football players who became professional wrestlers.

Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson is probably the most-famous football player to move to wrestling. The move to the WWE eventually helped Johnson to move into acting. Now he is the lead star of an HBO series and multiple movies.

It is unclear whether Gronkowski is planning for a career path similar to Dwayne Johnson at this time. It certainly would not be difficult for the footballer to obtain a contract with the WWE. It might be a smart move for him in terms of health too.

Gronkowski has had numerous injuries in his long career. The tight end is known for his ability to extend plays after taking hits. That sort of play can have serious negative consequences on a player’s body over time. It may be a good idea for the giant to leave the league before it damages his body further.
