New Disney+ Star Wars Series Will Start Filming in 2020

Disney+ has taken the streaming world by storm since it launched to much fanfare back in November of last year. Most of the buzz for the new streaming platform was created by “The Mandalorian.” This is a series that is based in the world of Star Wars. It became very popular and introduced the world to the adorable character Baby Yoda. After the massive success of this show, it was not very long until Disney announced that there will be new Star Wars shows on their streaming platform. The next series will involve characters from the “Rogue One” film that came out a few years ago. A few of the actors will be reprising their roles from the film in the series.

The exact details of the series have been a closely guarded secret. However, it was recently revealed  that the series will start filming episodes at some point in 2020. The exact release date of the series is not known. However, it is very unlikely that the show will be debuting this year if the filming has not even started yet. The name of the series is also a secret at this time. The things we do know for sure is that the new season of “The Mandalorian” will be released in October. There will also be an Obi-Wan Kenobi series that will star Ewan McGregor. However, that series has been put on hold until the scripts can be rewritten. There is no time table for when filming will start on that series.

The new “Rogue One” Star Wars series on Disney+ is very highly anticipated because of how interesting and entertaining “The Mandalorian” was. Nobody was expecting the show to be as good as it turned out to be. It took everybody by surprise. Therefore, people are anxious to see what Disney has up their sleeve where Star Wars is concerned.

Disney has already said that there will not be any new Star Wars movies coming out for least a couple of years. Therefore, all new Star Wars content will be exclusively on Disney+. “The Mandalorian” shows that Disney is willing to spend literally millions of dollars to create a very convincing and exciting series that is a visual treat.
