Critically Acclaimed
Season 2 of Mr. Robot just ended last month and it is without a doubt one of the best TV shows you can watch. It should be of no surprise how this show received a Golden Globe in 2015 and six Emmy nominations in 2016. This American drama-thriller on USA Network follows Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) a cyber security engineer who suffers from depression, dilutions, identity disorder and social anxiety. Elliot has a double life becoming a hacker and vigilante at night. This is the only way he knows how to connect with people. Elliot eventually gets recruited by an anarchist known as Mr.Robot (Christian Slater) to join his hacktivist group. The group wants to erase all debt by attacking a big corporation known as E Corp. This corporation is also one of the biggest clients at Elliot’s job Allsafe.
Concept And Production
The TV series Mr.Robot was created by screenwriter, producer and director Sam Esmail. Sam has always been fascinated by the hacker culture and had been wanting to make a movie about it for the last 15 years. It was with this fascination that he met with experts to make sure he used realistic and accurate examples of hacking. He was inspired by major blockbuster films such as Fight Club, Taxi Driver, The Matrix and American Psycho. Sam also found a lot of inspiration on the Arab Spring non-violent protests side that took place throughout the countries of the Arab League. His initial plan was to film a movie with the end being Elliot finding out he had a mental disorder. This all changed when he saw that the script kept growing and it did not suit a movie but a TV series. The first 20 pages of the script were used to film the pilot of Mr.Robot and the rest is history.
Viewer Response
Season 1 of Mr.Robot set a record on Rotten Tomatoes as the only show to ever earn perfect scores for an entire season. The show has been praised for it’s unique suspenseful cyber-thriller theme infused with a dark tone. It has been also praised for using top class scenes of hacking tools, operating systems and social engineering to the smallest of details. Season 2 has also scored high on Rotten Tomatoes with a 94%. This is the type of show that will definitely keep you on your toes at all times guessing what will happen next. If you are looking to start watching a new show, I highly recommend you start watching Mr. Robot.

Haven’t seen the show yet. Going to look into it soon.
I thought the show is a little slow. I’ll keep watching. This post peaked my interest again.
The lead actor is really good and carries the role well. I am currently trying to finish season 1. Good stuff.
This show is awesome. This is one of the few shows that I have to say is good from the beginning. Some shows start off slow which throws people off but not this show. The beginning is where it pretty much tells you what the show will be about.
I respect that it’s a good show, but it’s definitely not for everyone. I have seen a few episodes but just never got hooked.
I agree this show is not for everyone. You have to be into computers.
