DC’s Main Goal
Detective Comics is hoping that Suicide Squad erases any wrong doing of Zack Snyder’s in the DCEU (DC Extended Universe). The third movie in the franchise, DC is hoping to finally land a blockbuster smash hit with rave reviews and get things rolling for future projects. In all honesty, both Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice brought in a ton of money in the box office. Man of Steel made $668 million and Dawn of Justice made $872 million. But they are aiming for the type of success Marvel has had with four movies going over $1 billion (Avengers 1 and 2, Iron Man 3, and Civil War). Obviously Marvel did not get there over night, it took many years and movies to eventually build to that, a step in which DC has decided to skip in going straight to the Justice League early on. This Friday we turn to the villains to make things right in a bold new twist in the hero movie genre.
Trailer With Spoilers
In an attempt to draw more viewers before last night’s release, DC took a gamble and released a trailer with a handful of spoilers. The trailer opens up with the Department of Defense in the Pentagon trying to draw up a plan in case Superman were to make an attempt on the President in the White House, which makes a clear connection between this film and Dawn of Justice. We get to see a handful of scenes involving Ben Affleck’s Batman, who is always a fan favorite and likely to draw a larger audience. We see an interesting scene with the Joker with half his face in odd fashion, which leads to the theory of Joker releasing his infamous toxin on Gotham. We see a lot of lighthearted comedy in an attempt to distance itself from Dawn of Justice. Another interesting trend is that the trailers seem to be focusing on Harley Quinn, which clearly stole the spotlight since the first trailer of this film.
Early Reviews
Thus far early reviews from the film are not too encouraging, as it has a 26% on Rotten Tomatoes. But it is fair to note that Rotten Tomatoes seems to have some bias against DC movies as they are historically scored low, while Marvel films are scored incredibly high even though its the same genre. Fans have signed a petition to have the site shut down due to unfair reviews. Sometimes these scores influence how individuals react to a film. However something truly great cannot be denied, make sure to go out and see the film. If it is finally DC’s first blockbuster, word of mouth should take care of the rest. If its another blunder, it would create a heavy burden for the Justice League film to carry. We could only hope DC starts to make a big impact in the box office to challenge Marvel, as competition always brings out the best in everyone.
If you have seen the film this weekend, please post comments below and be careful to avoid any spoilers.

Marvel kills it at the movie business, and DC rocks at TV shows. Didn’t think Suicide Squad was great, but OK. I really thought the movie was going to be about Joker since it had so much hype, but nothing.
Looking forward to watching this movie
I watched it yesterday it was good

Didn’t see the movie but heard they fucked Jared Leto into taking the Joker role and lying to him about the screen time Joker was getting in this movie.
