Reality star, model, and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian has become known for having quite a following on social media. In fact, that following often results in her receiving large sums of money for “sponsored posts” to endorse or promote specific brands or products. However, one of those lucrative posts did not receive approval from husband Kanye West.
A report from KRCR News 7 says that Kim K had a sponsored post offered to her with a hefty sum involved. Kim said the deal was worth $1 million and that they “typically knock off Yeezy” on these posts. She wasn’t sure about the deal so she consulted with hubby Kanye West. He reportedly told her she shouldn’t take the deal. A few weeks later he even made it worth her while too.
Kim said two weeks later on Mother’s Day she not only received flowers from Kanye but an envelope containing a check. That check was worth a cool million dollars. Kim said a note inside the envelope from Ye thanked her for supporting him and “not posting.”
Kim K’s social media presence has quite a reach. Her Instagram currently boasts over 118 million followers, while her Twitter has nearly 60 million. She’s also represented on Facebook and Snapchat where her numbers are in the millions as well.
It’s unknown exactly what the nature of the post was or what the brand or product involved was. However, it appears it was one that West was strongly against. The hip-hop star has recently been making headlines with new rants involving Trump, the Constitution, and his “Saturday Night Live” appearance. It’s quite possible the sponsored post didn’t fit in with West’s latest stances or was a brand competing against his Yeezy line.
That said, Kim Kardashian still has plenty of social media presence, and now a million dollars for not sponsoring the brand. She even admitted she was going to make sure she cashed that check her husband gave her.
