As he seeks a better deal, Le’Veon Bell has been absent from the field this NFL season and is expected to report for the Pittsburgh Steelers soon. However, the Steelers’ running back holdout seems to be sticking to his reasons for not reporting for the team earlier. Bell sent out a couple of upside down tweets recently in which he said he wasn’t going to apologize for doing what he believes in.

According to NFL.com, Bell’s deadline is less than a week away as he must sign a one-year deal with the Steelers or sign his franchise tender before November 13. The report indicates that Bell is in the Pittsburgh area but he has yet to reach out in terms of signing. One of Bell’s Steelers teammate told NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala of their frustration with the situation saying, “make a decision, sign or not, be in or out, and let’s all move forward.”

As the situation looms in Pittsburgh, Bell offered some thoughts via his Twitter account. He sent out two different tweets, both of which appeared in an upside-down text. The tweets mostly talked about how everyone is worried about what he’s doing in his life, but to not judge him based on his decision. Bell added in one tweet, “I’m not going to apologize for what I believe is right for myself, family and the rest of my peers, period.”

A report via Pro Football Rumors indicates that by staying away from signing, Bell has lost about $7.7 million in possible salary. The word is he can earn $6.84 million in salary, but he’d need to show up ahead of the Steeler’s next game. That arrives Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers. Bell has taken a stance that he wants to be 100 percent healthy if he is going to be a free agent, so that may mean he gives up his 2018 earnings.

As of right now, Pittsburgh is 5-2-1 and lead the AFC North Division. Even without Bell on the field, running back James Conner has filled in just fine. Conner has accumulated 706 yards and nine touchdowns on 151 carries which has him second in the NFL for running backs in terms of total rushing yards.

Bell’s upside down tweets don’t seem to inspire much confidence he’ll be back in the Steelers’ black and yellow again. By November 13, the Pittsburgh Steelers and their fans may finally have some closure on this latest bit of drama surrounding the team.
