What Happened In 1945?

Adolf Hitler had multiple Fuhrer headquarters during World War II. There are two that stand out the most. The infamous Wolfsschanze, also known as the Wolf’s Lair. For those of you that are history buffs, this is where Claus von Stauffenberg tried to kill Hitler with a briefcase bomb. The other is the Fuhrerbunker in Berlin. This is the location Adolf Hitler is believed to have committed suicide alongside his wife Eva Braun in April of 1945. But as World War II came to a close, it seems like there was a lot of counter intelligence and misinformation going on between the Western Powers and the Soviet Union. Perhaps a golden opportunity for the biggest villain of all time to escape Berlin?

The Grey Wolf And The Cloud of Mystery

Let’s start with the official final statement by the Allies during the war. Adolf Hitler shot himself in the head. Eva Braun took a cyanide pill. Strict orders were for his people to then burn their remains so they would not be captured by the Soviets. But there are many different accounts of what happened inside the underground bunkers that the Fuhrer used as his headquarters in 1945. Let’s explore the shroud of mystery that went down in Berlin as the war came to a close.

There are articles online that claim that FBI declassified records indicate that they were aware that Hitler escaped and was living in the Andes Mountains. However after some research, it is hard to prove that these are indeed leaked declassified material. Is it really possible that the intelligence community was aware that Hitler escaped to Argentina? It is believed two German U-530 submarines appeared off the coast of Argentina, and their government aided in hiding Adolf and Eva. Some records online have documentation showing that the US Navy was aware of these U-Boats off the coast of Argentina. This doesn’t seem improbable considering that Argentina denied reports of Adolf Eichmann hiding there, only for the Mossad to capture him in 1960 inside Argentina, and then execute him in Israel in 1962. It is important to note, that even the United States forgave many Germans for War Crimes, in exchange for classified information. In fact, a large portion of NASA’s team that helped land Neil Armstrong on the moon, were German scientists. At the end of the day, we may never truly know what happened. Did he die in 1945? Did he change his name to Adolf Leipzig and live till the ripe age of 95 in South America? It’s tough to say, but it sure is intriguing to wonder if we’ve all been tricked while our global governments hide the truth from us.
