Objectifying Women A Major Concern

There are many feminists who claim Donald Trump has always been sexist towards women. Many politicians, including Republicans, have taken great offense to this video. Vice President candidate Mike Pence said he could not condone nor defend Mr. Trump’s remarks. Does Donald Trump believe sexual assault is allowed because he is wealthy? Many believe that this is the case since he is accustomed to getting what he wants due to his influence and power. In the video he claims he cannot help himself from kissing beautiful women, he is just drawn to them. Perhaps there are times when these advances are unwanted even though he is a famous celebrity. This is far from first time he’s been questioned about treatment of women.

Judging Private Conversations From A Decade Ago

The media has utterly gone out of their way to demonize Donald Trump for his actions. Key Republicans have reversed their endorsement of his. However the support from his base did not seem to decrease after these videos. Many ask if it’s fair to judge someone based on a private conversation had 11 years ago among confidants. Clearly the majority of us have said things we might not be proud of if made public. This includes women as well. Many female supporters of Trump have taken online to claim that women say far worst things behind closed doors. The conversations had among men in locker rooms, gyms, or even at the office can many a times become raunchy and outrageous. Rarely do we assume that we are being recorded or that a video will be leaked online.

Perhaps the problem is that we hold people running for office to a higher standard? It is hard to say considering how Hillary Clinton is also running for president and remained married to a husband that conducted multiple affairs and has been accused of sexual assault himself. Nevertheless the 2016 Presidential Elections remain a spectacle to behold for the international community.
