Almost all men love SUV cars. So here is our short list of SUVs that men love and why.

Ford Explorer – Affectionately called the “Exploder,” the Explorer has been around since it was introduced in 1991. The first-generation model was an SUV on steroids, and featured a 4.0-liter V6 engine that produced 140 horsepower and 214 lb.-ft. of torque. By 2005, Ford had equipped the second-generation Explorer with a 4.6-liter V8 that delivered 231 horsepower and 315 lb.-ft. of torque. With rugged styling, Explorer has been highly reliable and holds its value well.

Chevrolet TrailBlazer – Introduced in 1999, the Chevy TrailBlazer rides on a unique platform called “multi-link” which provides more stiffness at the bottom of the frame for improved handling and increased torsional rigidity than is common in other SUVs. The Trailblazer features two V6s; one with a 2.5-liter engine and a 4.2-liter engine, with six-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. In 2004, a trail grade package with 4WD was available in the Z71 Trail Blazer.

Toyota Sequoia – Designed to appeal to the SUV buyer who wants the most spacious cabin possible, the Toyota Sequoia is one that can carry up to seven people in style. Starting in 2001, Toyota began using its larger 4.7-liter V8 engine that produced 275 horsepower and 335 lb.-ft. of torque. Sequoia is equipped with both two- and four-wheel drive, depending on the model year. The 2006 Sequoia featured a larger, more powerful 5.7-liter V8 engine with 307 horsepower and 354 lb.-ft. of torque.

Toyota 4Runner – Always at the top of Toyota’s list as far as SUVs are concerned, the 4Runner has been around since 1984. The most notable feature of the 4Runner is its independent front and rear coil-spring suspensions. Popular among 4WD enthusiasts, the 4Runner was available with a 5.7-liter V8 that produced 270 horsepower and 340 lb.-ft. of torque, with a four-speed automatic transmission.
