Elon Must Unveils Tesla Model 3

Elon Musk never ceases to amaze electric car fans. He is known as the boss of the world’s only electric car manufacturer known as Tesla. Just some few hours ago, the Tesla boss released the first bunch of electric cars to employee customers that had bought the vehicle earlier. He said that it was his hope that this would be followed by a mass production of electric cars. He also said that mass production would be the toughest test the company will face in the coming days. He made this announcement on Friday evening outside the company’s factory that is located in Fremont, California.

A person willing to acquire the Model 3 of the electric car would have to part with over $35, 000. The car can do a speed of 350 kilometers per hour. He noted that it would pose a problem for them to manufacture the car during the initial days. However, the process is expected to become easier as they get used to production. He revealed this information earlier before the launch of the event. When speaking to journalists, he said that the last six months have been tough for him and his manufacturing team as they have faced endless challenges.

Earlier on, the Tesla boss had asked customers to subscribe to the new model. They had expected a subscription of just 250,000 people. He revealed that this number had risen to over 373,000 people. To be considered among the first group of people to own an electric car, a customer had to make a deposit of $1,000 with Tesla motors. The money is refundable. Elon Musk said that a new customer would probably wait for over two years before their car is ready. They expect to finish the production of the current subscription by the end of 2018.

A better version of model three will be released later this year. The version is expected to cost a customer approximately $44,000. On a single charge, Tesla motors say that they expect the car to do 500 kilometers per hour. Their dashboard will have a touchscreen display. Elon Musk says that they aim at producing 500,000 in 2017. Should they achieve this, they will outdo BMW, Lexus and Mercedes in production within the United States only. Prior to this launch, the company has already wasted $2 billion on tests alone. This launch was pulled back by some quality complaints alongside normal production delays.
