Limited Connectivity? Netflix Adds Offline Viewing
We’ve all been in the same situation at one point or another. You are on a road trip, doctors appointment or plane trip with no access to any of the nearby password protected WIFIs. You’re bored and you want to binge watch Netflix like you would at home. But do you really want to stream HD video which absolutely kills your wireless data plan? Just a few hours of watching Netflix on your phone can kill a bunch of GBs of data. Going over your data limit will cost you a pretty penny. Good luck explaining that extra $60 charge on AT&T to your wife because you were so bored that you just had to watch the latest season of Narcos at the dentist. Well, the game has changed, now you can download videos to your iOS or Android for your offline viewing needs. To be fair, Amazon prime video already allows this feature, but their library doesn’t compare to Netflix even with The Grand Tour being released.
This is an absolute game changer that will allow Netflix to further dominate the video streaming market. How many times have you been sitting bored at your job with nothing to do while you wait for 5 pm to clock out. Corporate wifi’s are usually restricted or their guess wifis will restrict bandwidth heavy apps such as Netflix or Hulu. Easy solution, download a few shows or movies the night before on your WIFI and then enjoy hours of Stranger Things the next day at the office. Productivity in jobs across America may go down a bit these next few weeks. But rest assure that a happy employee is a good employee. Let’s also not forget about what this means for air travel. Your phone is now an airplane mode enabled Netflix machine capable of pumping out episode after episode of House of Cards while others are watching lackluster in-flight movies. It’s important to note that not all movies and shows are available for offline viewing.

Hopefully this is the beginning of all other streaming services to allow it
It will be, but take into consideration of phone memory. Not everybody has tons of memory.
yeah but nowadays most phones have 64gb-128gb and if you have an android you can add an external SD Card
Now HULU needs to do the same
I agree. I watch most of my TV shows on Hulu
Same here. If they want to stay ahead of the game, they will enable this feature.
I love Netflix and now even more
This is something that everyone struggles with. Huge improvement on Netflixs part. I’m loving it.
Me too , but take into consideration of phone memory. Not everybody has tons of memory.
This is awesome!I am huge Netflix fan. I took out cable and just use my apple tv and watching Netflix all day. Now that you can use while offline is going to bring more users for sure. And what better then being able to use it while flying. We all know that some movies they put on the flight either suck or they are repetitive. So it’s great that now we can use from our phonesite or tablet. AWESOME.
This will get more customers that where on the fence to subscribe and the ones who thought about leaving to stay
Have not committed to Netflix yet… I just put my Pirate patch on an sail the dangerous seas for my content. If they ever patrol the international waters more heavily maybe I will pay
Lol Black Sails
Pirates will be hanged at sea.
Netflix is on top of the streaming charts. They were slacking a bit, but have come back with better content and features.
They made some bold moves a few years back and lost some customers, but instead of panicking they stayed true with their plans and big picture and it’s paid huge
They got a lot of new Netflix originals and good movies
Stranger things enough said… took a shot on the little guy
I saw the first couple of episodes and I didn’t like it.
I’m basically taking vacation next week AT work now lol
Time to stock up bro, binge watching time
Me too.
Bro u got to actually work to take vacation
That’s for people that want paid vacations. You work for the corporate world and they say you take vacations when we give you vacation.
