Imagine a bright pink tutu, beer belly and an inked-up shirtless adult man. Unfortunately, there is more. Toss in a monkey pouch to hide his privates, and you’ve got a streaker on ice at the Men’s 1,000m Speed Skating event in Pyeongchang early Friday morning. TMZ was the first media site to report the hilarious incident.
It’s not clear if he were arrested but probably should be taken in for extremely poor taste and a disgraceful display on ice.
The streaker wore his long graying hair in a ponytail and had the words “Peace + Love” written across his chest in big letters. Check him out here.
The streaker didn’t have on a pair of ice skates. Instead, he had quickly run down to the rink and jumped the barrier. He swiftly removed his jacket and sweater and then, took off his pull-away trousers. Black sneakers were his choice of non-skates, so he was able to hit the ice and running, and that’s exactly what happened.
The exhibitionist fell a few times as he pretended gliding across the ice at the Gangneung Oval. He wore a happy grin for the few minutes he had crashed the scene. At least he had waited for the Men’s 1,000m Speed Skating event and the medal ceremony to conclude before creating his own Olympic event.
Fox News claims they have identified the Baby Boomer streaker as a British chap, Mark Roberts.
It seems that Mr. Streaker has done this before around the globe; the last time was in Barcelona at the World Swimming Championships in 2013. During that streaker invasion, Roberts had appeared shirtless, in his signature pink tutu and wearing a bathing cap. He began dancing for the crowd and mimicking the athletes during the performances of their synchronized swimming team final.
Sources say that Mark Roberts can’t keep his clothes on and has streaked more than 500 times.
He should be given some credit for promoting peace and love. The message is a good one but was delivered in the most ungraceful way.
At this point, it’s unclear if the notorious streaker was escorted off the ice by security or if he finished his skating routine and left on his own.
It’s also not clear what South Korean citizens thought about the streaker who crashed the skating party.
It’s been quite an interesting 2018 Winter Games.
