Questions hovering are whether Mack will be fully prepared to sit as the regular season games kick off. The player is also seeking a contract extension with the team. The answer to the question is almost being answered as the team nears to play against Seattle Seahawks. The team is set to face the Seahawks on Thursday night. The teams will be closing out the exhibition season, as the final roaster cut reduced to 53 men in the coming two days. According to a particular sports report, it cited unnamed sources, and the anticipation was that Mack would miss playing time in the regular season. Mack’s agent Joel Segal made a phone call on Monday night. The agent politely declined that his client was going to take part in the regular games. He noted that Mack had been consistently been starting since the training camp commenced.

On the other hand, The Raiders General manager has been resolute on the issue. The head coach Jon Gruden has referred the process as gruelling for both the team and Mack’s side. The coach noted that the issue was affecting him at a personal level and that all he wished for is for the player to get back. The Raiders General manager had prepared the Raiders salary cap having the idea of getting Mack aboard. He aimed to hand Mack a contract extension in the same way he did with player Derek Carr 12 months ago. It’s quite a challenge that no NFL player has ever had two players that earned an average of more than $20 million in a year in history.

Gruden is said to have the final say over the issue of roster makeup. Mercury News reports this is the same issue that owner Mark Davis confirmed while at an NFL owner’s meeting. In the same meeting, the owner conceded that McKenzie’s role had changed in the same regard. The Raiders team are not making an effort to go out of their comfort zone to say everything out. The team has leverage in that Mack is in under contract for wage $12.846 million in this season. This is the amount of cash that is due for the fifth –year preference on his rookie’s contract. Each game that is missed, the check is worth roughly $814,000. The actual figures for a proposed allowance may not be aired publicly.
