San Diego Comic-Con Is Cancelled Because of Pandemic

The world of entertainment has suffered another very big blow as a result of the global pandemic that is impacting most of the planet. It was just announced that the 2020 San Diego Comic-Con has been officially cancelled. This is not a surprise to anyone because it was going to take place only three months from now. The event takes place every year over a period of four days in late July. It is the biggest event in the entertainment industry. All of the biggest celebrities show up to promote their latest projects. There are also many panels where fans are able to ask questions.

San Diego Comic-Con has developed into a pop culture phenomenon. Many movie studios will debut big trailers to highly anticipated movies at the event. However, the country is not going to be ready to have large gatherings only three months from now. Therefore, the announcement that the event is cancelled was expected for quite some time. The people who organize the event are hoping that it can return next year. However, there is no guarantee of that. A lot will depend on the development of a vaccine for the coronavirus being developed between now and July of 2021. Only time will tell.

Even if they had decided to have the event, it is likely that the governor of CA would have put a stop to it as a threat to public safety. The entertainment world as a whole is at a standstill right now. No movies or TV shows are being made. It seems like that will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future.

Fans began to dress up as their favorite characters. The event is now so important that studios will plan a big part of their marketing strategy around it. However, it will not take place this year.
