Judge Amy Berman Jackson agreed to hear Stone’s claim the comments the lead juror in his trial made crossed a line, and he’s entitled to a new trial. Judge Jackson let Mr. Trump know he needs to stop tweeting about the Stone case. But Mr. Trump continues to fight to keep his conspiracy-loving friend out of the slammer.

Several news reports say the president will pardon Mr. Stone if he doesn’t get a new trial. Mr. Trump told the press he might pardon Stone because the trial is a sham. Mr. Stone lied to Congress, and he tried to obstruct the Mueller investigation, plus he threatened a trial witness. But the president said Stone’s trial is a sham because the Mueller investigation was an illegal attempt to remove him from office.

The coronavirus continues its journey around the world. Afghanistan, Bahrain, Italy, South Korea, and Iran reported hundreds of cases, but other countries like North Korea and Vietnam claim the virus is under control. Mr. Trump told the press the coronavirus is under control in the states. Larry Kudlow and Steve Mnuchin said the same thing.

Mnuchin and Kudlow told the press GDP growth won’t experience a meltdown from the virus. But that statement is more about stopping the stock market bloodbath than reporting the facts, according to the New York Times.

The stock market lost 6.3% of its value in two days, thanks to the spread of COVID-19. More than 80,000 confirmed cases and more than 2,200 deaths have investors biting their nails. Some investors want the Feds to cut interest rates at the next meeting to offset the economic damage from the virus.

China’s economy continues to struggle. American companies that manufacture products in China let investors know first-quarter revenue numbers won’t make them happy. Every segment of the U.S. economy will take a direct hit from COVID-19, and that hit could cost Trump the election, according to the Washington Post.

Even though the Ukraine debacle is not in the news as much thanks to the coronavirus, the Democrats still want the public to know how inclusive Trump’s plan was to make Ukraine help him ruin Joe Biden’s chance to win the primary election.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was neck-deep in the Ukraine affair, according to Yahoo News. Pompeo and Giuliani worked on the down low to bring Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch down. Mr. Pompeo and Giuliani exchanged emails and had clandestine meetings to help the president prove Biden was a dirty VP, and Ukraine still has a DNC server that doesn’t exist.
