The Congressional Oversight Committee was on fire while Michael Cohen tried to explain how he knew Donald Trump was a conman and a cheat. He had to take abuse from the old and angry white Republicans on the committee. But the Republican abuse did produce serious blowback for some of those Republican Congressmen. Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz brought Trump’s family into play before testimony began. He wanted to let Cohen’s wife know Michael has more than Trump secrets in that salt and pepper head of his.

According to a report by CNN, several politicians thought Matt did one of those Trump code threats the president uses so he doesn’t get enemy blood on his hands. Cohen said Trump never asks questions and he never gives orders. He tells people what they should do by painting a mental picture of what he wants people to do. That conman tool is common in all his speeches. He creates a threat, and then he swoops in and saves the day if people do it his way.

The Florida Bar Association thought Gaetz’s tweet was worth looking into. Matt was angry when he told the committee he had more to say but the chairman put a muzzle on him and his thumbs. Gaetz is a Trumpian. Cohen was there to show Matt what a Trumpian looks like when tweets like the one he sent him, come back and haunt him on the political and social trail.

North Carolina Republican Congressman Mark Meadows tried to tear down Cohen’s claim that Trump was a card-carrying racist. Meadows brought Lynne Patton the head of Housing and Urban Development to the hearing to prove Trump couldn’t be a racist. A Democrat on the committee, Michigan Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib reminded Meadows you can hire African Americans and still be a racist. Meadows claimed he wasn’t a racist even though he wanted to send Obama back to Kenya in 2012.

Meadows brought up old wounds when he tried to intimidate Cohen. Meadows was way out of line and blatantly disrespectful. Plus, his personal demeanor and attitude toward Cohen clearly shows the open animosity between Republican and Democrats, according to Reuters.

Rudy Giuliani, Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer, said Cohen told three lies during his testimony. He could remember all of three, but he said when Cohen said he didn’t want a job in the White House it had to be a lie because Don Jr. and Eric said Cohen asked them for one.
