New Spawn Horror Movie Will Start Filming This Year

One of the most popular comic book characters over the past 30 years has been Spawn. He is a person who has risen from the dead who makes evil people pay for his crimes. The character was created by artist and writer Todd McFarlane. A movie was made in 1997 featuring Spawn. However, it was not received well by fans of the comic because it was rated PG-13. New Line Cinema had insisted on a PG-13 rating so that kids would be able to see it. However, the comic book is much more graphic. Hardcore fans were turned off and the movie bombed.

Now it is more than 20 years later and Todd McFarlane feels that the time is right to make a new Spawn movie. However, this new version will be much different than the original. Todd will be writing and directing this movie himself. He has said that the cost of the film will only be $10 million. It will have very limited computer special effects. Basically, he just wants to make a gritty horror movie starring his iconic comic book character. He feels that the success of the film “Joker” will allow him to make the movie he has been dreaming of.

“Joker” became the first film to be rated R and make more than $1 billion at the global box office. Todd McFarlane has said that many investors have contacted him about possibly financing his Spawn movie. The huge box office success of “Joker” has allowed them to have an open mind about making a comic book movie that has an R rating. Todd feels that he will be able to get the $10 million that he needs to make this movie. He has said that his goal is to start filming the movie later this year. The script is already finished. Jamie Foxx will be the star of the film.

There are many people who are not very optimistic about this movie getting made in the future. Todd has a bad habit of talking about projects that never end up happening. He is having a hard time getting the money for the film and it does not look like that will be changing any time soon. Some people have also complained that Todd has never directed a movie before. He says that he will surround himself with people who are very experienced in the film industry.
