Men today are more into their looks than they were in the past. In fact, the average man spends 43 percent more money on clothing than the average woman. However, women still spend a lot more money on skin care. A recent survey showed that 70 percent of men spend less than $25 on skin care per month. Fifteen percent of women spend less than $30 per month on skin care products.
Anthony McDonough is the founder of LQD, which is a skin care company that is based in the United Kingdom. He stated that men are feeling the increased pressure to look good. That is why they are spending more on skin care than they did in the past.
There are several reasons that men have always spent less time and money on their appearance than women. Most men do not wear makeup. They typically wear their hair shorter than women. Additionally, most men only shave their face, but women wax other areas of their bodies. Even though men are starting to feel the pressure to look good, women are still under more pressure.
Anthony stated that men should not think that skin care is complicated. He stated that men who are under the age of 25 need to use a good cleanser and moisturizer. They may also need to use an acne-fighting product.
Men who are over the age of 25 need to use a product with alpha hydroxy acid. This helps boost collagen production. They also need to use a moisturizer.
Men who are over the age of 40 need to use a product that reduces eye puffiness. Anthony also stated that there are differences between men and women’s skin. Men have thicker skin than women. They also shave their faces. Additionally, men’s skin is more likely to be exposed to environmental elements because they do not wear makeup.
