When Dreamers Are Crazy Enough To Think They Can Change The World
A large amount of us live in large cities that have a ton of creature comforts that we take for granted. Some of us do not even realize how lucky we are to have cheap, delicious, and quick food available to us. However in the Northwest United States there lays a town with a population of just 7,400 residents. Welcome to Othello, Washington, about 180 miles east of Seattle. Now for those of you who have traveled across our marvelous country during road trips, there is something that every small town has in common. The majority of them only have late night diners or burger joints. The logistics of delivering goods to these remote towns will often scare off large chains from setting up shop next to Mom & Pop shops. Well one teen dared to dream big and asked for the impossible. Zeke Castro wanted a Taco Bell in his town of Othello.
Persistence Is The Most Powerful Force on Earth, It Can Move Mountains
Back in 2012, Zeke Castro decided to start calling Taco Bell’s corporate often and requesting to please build a Taco Bell in his town. Franchise developers would patiently listen to his claim that it would take Othello residents over 90 minutes of commute to other towns for Taco Bell. They asked him for his address and thanked him for his interest. Eventually he received a letter in the mail from Taco Bell thanking him for his enthusiasm and two $10 gift cards for Taco Bell. In a burst of joy, Zeke immediately posted to Facebook that there is a chance Taco Bell would build a store in town. All too quickly his peers tried to shoot down his dreams and said it was highly unlikely. But Zeke wouldn’t have none of that negativity. He stayed wrong and adamant about Taco Bell coming to his town.
Ring The Bell – Trucks Deliver A New Hope
A year had passed and it was now 2013. Zeke had not heard anything from Taco Bell. Hope was starting to fade fast. No more letters in the mail or phone calls. Then the craziest, most random thing occurred. While Zeke was at work, he received a call from Taco Bell with a lady eager to inform him of mixed news. The bad news was that Taco Bell could not build a location in his town. But thanks to his efforts, they would send a Taco Bell truck to his town to hand out free tacos to friends and family. The event was a grand slam and many people showed up to form lines to get tacos. Zeke was proud of this minor victory, much more than most kids his age have accomplished. But then the unbelievable happened. At the event, they surprised with Zeke with the greatest news ever. They would indeed build a new model Taco Bell in his town. The tears were barely held back as a dream was finally coming close to being achieved. Fast forward three months, and Zeke was able to cut the ribbon at the grand opening of Othello’s Taco Bell, and residents rejoiced after finally getting access to one of the greatest late night drive thru chains in our great nation. Zeke’s story is a true inspiration. Don’t be afraid to dream big. But make sure to execute and act on those dreams. Live mas my friends.

Dude I am done with excuses…Zeke inspired me to become a winner and pursue my dreams.
One of the best short stories I have read all year… This kid is awe inspiring, on a similar note Starbucks is unleashing their Nitro infused cold brew coffee. But only LA, NY, San Fran and Seattle are getting it first. Most of these cities are cold as fuck as it is. What would they want with a cold brew, anyways I will use this story to push Starbucks to bring Nitro brew to Miami.
Yo Quiero Taco Bell! (Little Chihuahua Voice)
That’s how winning is done. Persistence and determination.
