A New Beer Has Been Chosen
Time to review yet another beer for our community of bros. This time I didn’t get an opportunity to pick up something fancy at Total Wine. Instead I was shopping at our local Aldi’s (excellent place) and decided to give one of their brews a chance. After taking a brief look, none of the lagers or ales caught my attention. Then suddenly I noticed one that appealed to me. Revolution Harbor Amber Ale. The name was interesting, the logo was cool, and the description was just right. I decided to take the dive and roll with it. What I uncovered was fairly satisfying and worthy of a review.
Taste And Feel
A lot of bros often tell me that they don’t enjoy ales because they typically leave a bitter after taste in their throat. I often wonder how the mead that Vikings drank a thousand years ago would compare to our modern ales, and I would use this as an example of why they should grow a pair and keep drinking ales until it becomes an acquired taste. But in all fairness, one does have to consider brews that could be enjoyed by everyone at a gathering. Which is why I think that Revolution Harbor makes an excellent Amber Ale. This ale does not go down as a strong bitter ale. They added a touch of honey to it, and from the first sip you can notice that this is not an ordinary ale. It goes down smooth and easy, it feels much softer than a normal ale, yet it still feels like a masculine drink. This brew walked the thin line between a piss beer and a polished brew, and came out on the winning end.
Main Question To Ask Yourself
When shopping for good beers, one always has to consider the basics. Taste vs price. It always comes down to that same simple formula. A six pack of Revolution Harbor’s Amber Ale cost me $6.49, which is around the territory of Bud Light, Miller Light, and Coors Light. Everyone knows that Light beers should only be consumed as a chaser for hard shots, drinking games that involve chugging, or for Stone Cold Steve Austin to make his entrance to the ring during the 90s. Under any other circumstances, your man card should be removed for drinking those Light Beers. So if you can bag this six pack for the same price and get a decent buzz, that is a win-win for everyone involved. It’s an ale that can be drank in large amounts without becoming repugnant. It has a very satisfying taste of honey somewhere in the background that makes it a true joy. And more importantly, it’s a very cheap beer.
Verdict
In conclusion, this is a solid brew that I recommend all bros to try out soon. I am not saying that it is going to replace Stella Atrios or Amber Bock in my Fantasy Beer Lineup any time soon, but if I am looking for something nice that everyone can enjoy for a low price, this is another option that bros would appreciate. In the world of beers, people usually play it safe and rarely try things outside the norm. Bring a six pack of this and take it to your next night of poker with the bros, and reap the benefits of being the Tyrion Lannister of the group, you “drink and know things”. You won’t regret it. Let us know the in the comments below if you tried this brew and liked it.

The honey in this produces a nasty hang over. Last summer I took like 11 to the dome, and I woke up feeling like I had no legs, like LT. Dan from Forrest Gump.
Sounds good I’m thirsty too

Never seen this beer at publix or Winn-dixie. Never been to Aldi’s, I’ll keep an eye open for this brew. Honey ales are awesome.
