He’d buy books abroad and resell them at lower prices than the retailers. This business gave him insights into what entrepreneurship entailed. He later made the most out of this experience.

Founding eDirect

In 1999, Jesse Willms started eDirect, an online retail business that bought software overseas and sold them locally. His company specialized in software licenses and computer software. Some of the software sold on eDirect were Microsoft Word and Adobe Photoshop. The business was very popular with students as it regularly offered them discounts. eDirect generated over $40 million in software and license sales.

Other Entrepreneurial Pursuits

From 2007 to 2011, Jesse ventured into selling more products such as Acai Berry. He also sold Dazzle White, a teeth whitening product that earned him $500 in profits. In 2010, he came up with Penguin Leads, a record website checker. Penguin leads provided records of cars and property. This business generated $20 million in sales.

Vehicle History

As a child, Jesse loved cars. His passion motivated him to create a business with a similar model to Penguin Leads. The Vehicle History website provides car buyers and owners with their vehicle history. One can search for information such as the manufacturing year and make a car model. The website also allows its users to search the VIN of their vehicle. It has millions of visitors and has featured on Digital trends, Fox, and Detroit News.
