Many people envy the lives of the rich and famous which usually include high-profile professional athletes, reality television stars, and hip-hop moneymakers. One of the latter of these is certainly the rapper Drake, who according to recent reports is so high-profile and wealthy he didn’t even have to pay a dime for his private jet.
The private jet dubbed “Air Drake” was reportedly gifted to the hip-hop star. Drake is the rapper behind recent hits such as “In My Feelings” and “God’s Plan.” According to TMZ’s report, Drake’s new multimillion dollar 767 Jet was a gift from the Canada-based airline Cargojet. The company felt that based on Drake’s status and publicity, gifting him that jet would pay for itself, per TMZ.
That particular model of private jet can sell for as much as $200 million retail. Drake offered a recent tour of the luxurious interior, which went viral and probably helped give the company just a bit of extra publicity already.
Drake took “Air Drake” to the Bahamas for a celebratory trip earlier this week. That was because his favorite basketball team made it into the NBA Finals. The Toronto Raptors defeated the No. 1 seed Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals, 4-2.
Drake’s name has been in the headlines quite a bit too. Not only does he have that new private jet piquing people’s interest, but he’s also in the spotlight at the 2019 NBA Finals. Drake is well known as the top fan of the Toronto Raptors, similar to how Spike Lee is highly visible at New York Knicks games. With Drake courtside, it’s already created some viral buzz and attention based on his interactions with the Raptors and Warriors players.
The good news for the Toronto Raptors is that Drake now has a sweet private jet that he can take them in for a celebratory trip. First, they’ll need to win three more games against the defending champions, though.
