Instagram Is Coming Out With A New Messaging Platform Called Threads

One of the most popular social media platforms is Snapchat. Some of Snapchat’s most distinguishing features include things like:

• Informing you where your Snapchat contacts are in the real world through what’s known as the Snap Map, using which you can also view snaps that people have shared publicly from geographical locations near your or on the other side of the planet.
• Messages, pictures, and videos sent through Snapchat automatically disappear just a few seconds after they are sent in the first place, making it easy to cover up who you have been talking to – it’s a great way to stay out of trouble online and prevent people from invading your privacy.
• You don’t have to add other users by searching for them based on name or username, as you can simply view another person’s personalized Snapchat QR code through your smartphone’s own camera lens.
• Snapchat is full of filters that often sweep across the World Wide Web is widespread fashion.

Instagram, according to reports that surfaced yesterday, on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, is in the middle of working on a platform to send messages to compete with Snapchat.

This messaging platform is known as “Threads,” according to reports.

Threads is said to be a companion mobile app to Instagram, meaning you’ll need to use Threads in order to message other Instagram users outside of the social media platform’s traditional mobile interface. Reports indicate that the new app – it’s being designed by the likes of Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook, the owner and operator of Instagram – is “designed to promote constant, automatic sharing between users,” which sounds awfully similar to Snapchat – wouldn’t you say?

People who are on one another’s Close Friends lists on Instagram will receive more instant updates than from people who are not on the list. Threads will come equipped fully with tons of features that make it possible to gauge your speed – currently offered by Snapchat; the in-app speedometer is one of the oldest tools provided by Snapchat – location – Snapchat also does this – and more in real-time.

News of Threads comes shortly after getting rid of Instagram’s previous messaging system, Direct.

Threads is being tested by people who work for Facebook right now, though it isn’t clear when the Instagram companion mobile application will be available to the public.
