In the past, many people would find that few eating establishments would deliver food to their door. However, this would change as pizza establishments took over this section of the dining market. As technology has continued to advance, it’s now become easier for food competitors from all over the world to offer delivery services of their own. With that in mind, pizza chain Papa John’s aims to include an additional ordering option for those who are 21 and over.
While this idea is in its early stages of development, Papa John’s will begin offering beer as a beverage option. However, those looking forward to placing a beer order with Papa John’s right away will need to wait for a while. Food and Wine reports that this initial test is only taking place in Jefferson, Indiana. It’s understandable to wonder what the reasoning is behind choosing Jefferson as the location for this test. This company reports that this location holds special significance as it was the birthplace of the first Papa John’s location.
As of this writing, it is being reported that someone can order 16oz cans in a six-pack. Many are understandably wondering what types of beers Papa John’s will offer with their pizzas. This company currently plans on offering beers made by Coors, Miller, Yuengling, and Dos Equis.
That being said, Papa John’s won’t be the only pizza company to have tested offering beer with deliveries. Pizza Hut, a notable rival of Papa John’s, began testing beer delivery beginning in December of 2017. It is being reported that Pizza Hut’s recent foray into offering beer delivery continues to remain a success and will be expanding to over 100 locations in the near future. However, it remains unsure as to how well Papa John’s beer delivery program will fare.
To summarize, Papa John’s recently announced that it will be testing offering beer to thirsty adults placing delivery orders. This is currently being tested in an extremely small radius located within Jefferson, Indiana. One reason Papa John’s could be deciding to offer this program is to compete with Pizza Hut, who launched a similar program in December 2017.
