Waking up early has plenty of benefits it seems. Are you a morning person? Then some of these benefits may sound familiar to you. If you are a night person, then consider going to bed earlier and waking up sooner to reap the benefits that a morning person enjoys.

Men who wake up earlier naturally have more time to eat a larger and more nutritious breakfast. If you barely have enough time to get dressed and brush your teeth, chances are you are not eating a healthy or balanced meal in the morning. Breakfast is important because it helps activate your metabolism to keep you going throughout the day without crashing. A hearty breakfast that includes protein can also make you more resistant to stress and improve your mood. This is because protein can increase dopamine levels and decrease stress hormones such as cortisol.

If you want to get fit or stay fit, then the morning is a perfect time to get some exercise in. It is especially a good time to do some cardiovascular activity. If you are more into lifting weights, then you should probably wait until later during the day. Your muscles perform better when they are warmed up, and your body temperature has risen.

When you rise early, you get more exposure to sunlight. This has been proven to have a positive effect on your mood. Men who are exposed to more sunlight during the day are also less likely to be overweight and have a healthy BMI. So get up early and enjoy the daylight from the sun. It will make you feel better, help you maintain a healthy weight and help prevent depression. More sunlight exposure can even make you more efficient at work.

Early risers also tend to get more sleep and procrastinate less. This is because you have more time to get projects done. You are also less likely to put assignments off for the evening and dive right into a task. Getting more sleep has also been shown to improve health and reduce the chances of getting depression. It will also make you a more energized person when you do have to hit the office or job site in the morning.

Another benefit to being a morning person is that you are probably going to be a happier person and more successful in your career. Several studies conducted by universities seem to show a correlation between rising early and happiness, career success and health. Research has also shown that our brains perform best in the morning and being an early morning person helps you take advantage of that.
