“Deadpool 3” Will Feature Wolverine Played by Hugh Jackman

The Marvel Comics cinematic universe did not take much of a break during the coronavirus pandemic, and it appears to be firing on all cylinders this year. The next major Marvel Films project is “Deadpool 3,” and it will bring an iconic member of the X-Men into the fray: Wolverine, who will as usual be portrayed by Australian star Hugh Jackman.

Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds will naturally play the titular character Deadpool, a schizophrenic vigilante superhero who has a caustic, yet irresistible personality. “Deadpool 3” is almost a personal project for Reynolds, who has really gotten into the spirit of the comic book character, but he may need to make room for X-Men lore for this sequel, which is expected to hit theaters in two years.

According to reports published by Esquire and Variety, the third Deadpool movie may actually be more of an X-Men project, and Reynolds is perfectly fine with this production decision. Jackman seems to be in agreement; he told Variety in an interview that the name of the film may not even include Deadpool in the title, and this should not be a problem to dedicated fans of Marvel comic book series.

“Deadpool 3” is expected to begin filming sometime next spring in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and it will be a long time before this movie actually hits theaters. There is still no release date announced for “Deadpool 3,” and this movie has yet to go through production due to the pandemic, but it seems like it could be a lot of fun to see Reynolds again team up with Jackman and the rest of the production crew.

X-Men Comics are a series of Marvel Comics that depict mutants from the Marvel Multiverse, which also features the superpowered individuals called mutants. The first X-Men movie, called simply “X-Men,” was released in 2000, and it has spawned a series of Hollywood blockbuster sequels that reached an apex with the release of the first Deadpool, which owes a lot of its success to the intimate acting of Reynolds, who plays the tormented hero with equal doses of panache, bravado, and comedic sadness.
