Tough Choice To Make

Gaming consoles bring much joy to millions of people worldwide every year. Rather it be an Xbox One, Playstation 4, or Nintendo Wii U, there’s a little something for everyone. Due to their limitations that forbid them from staying ahead of the technological curve, a rare breed exists, we call ourselves the PC Master Race. Unlike our gaming cousins, we are not limited to 30 FPS and 1080P resolution. We can rely on a solid 60 FPS or higher and 4K resolutions. This is appealing for a lot of bros but I consistently find gamers committing the same mistake time and time again.

Easy Way Out

A lot of gamers fall in love with the concept of a gaming on a PC. They are quick to buy a gaming rig from a manufacture at an incredibility high price and full of software bloatware. I would refer to these gamers as the ones who paid the gold price. The easy way out. Something built by someone else. No pride and honor went into building such said machines. Of course a lot of gamers might know a thing or two about computers, but they have no clue what goes inside the internals and believe it may be incredibly complicated to build a PC. I am here to set the record straight and let you know, NAY, it is not hard at all.

Building Custom Machines

I had the good fortune of having a much older brother who had a fascination with computers. At one point we had five custom built machines at our home. Friends from the neighborhood would conjugate in our cramped living room for hectic battles of Doom or Quake circa early 90s. This was the dawn of the FPS. Uncharted territory. A landmine of countless hours of fun and intense competition. Some of the PC’s ran these games great, others not so much. Trail and error was the lay of the land. We all learned from these experiences. Eventually I would become a young teen very capable of paying the iron price, ordering an entire rig part by part, and putting it together rather quickly. I credit myself as having introduced a large portion of my friends to the PC gaming world and intrigued them with an offer to help build their own PC’s and helped guide them thru the fog of war.

As time passed by, all my near friends built their own PC’s, and have ever since. A computer that may run for $2,000 already built, can be hand built if ordered piece by piece, for somewhere in the ball park of $1,200 with even better parts. It’s a no brainier. There is many youtube tutorials on how to DIY Gaming PC’s. Newegg.com is an excellent and cheap source to buy parts. Essentially it may sound complex, but you just need the following.

Motherboard-CPU-Video Card-Memory (ram)-Hard drive-Power Supply-Case.

That’s it, it really is that simple. You can get fancy and add cooling systems, solid state drives, blu ray players, etc. But if you are a beginner, I suggest you keep it simple. You will not regret it once you are done building it. You will show it off as a badge of honor. You will join forums and brag about the raw power you behold and the low price you acquired it for. You will game as a PC Master Race, how gaming was originated and meant to be. In the last decade, consoles have destroyed the popularity of PCs in the gaming sense, but as consoles are falling behind in next gen technology, I am hoping Gaming PC’s make a comeback. When given the choice, always pay the iron price, don’t buy an already assembled PC. Tell us below what your thoughts are on the matter.

I agree I am 100% with building your own gaming rig.

The only way is to build your own. You will never get a better deal any other way.

Worth it if your name is Ed and or get your hair cut from Super Cuts. Can’t beat the graphics and performance of a true gaming rig.
